An educational/support group for menopause
An inaugural presentation of Tina's graduate thesis work, Paused is a 4-week educational and support program for women who are in perimenopause, menopause, or post-menopause, whether natural, early, induced, or medical (essentially, any stage of menopause – self-acknowledged or acknowledged by a health professional). While her work is focused on women in Newfoundland Labrador, anyone outside this area is also welcome!

The program includes:
- 4 1-hour educational sessions (virtual & recorded)
- 4 experiential practices and exercises (hybrid)
- 4 support group sessions (hybrid)
- Access to experienced professionals who can answer your questions about menopause
- Resources with accurate information about menopause (perimenopause, menopause transition, postmenopause)
- Access to additional individual resources at Coastal Health NL, e.g., therapists (fee), ADHD or autism consultations and assessments (fee), or appointments with a physician specializing in women's health (MCP coverage)
Week 1: WTF is Menopause!
Webinar:
Tuesday, January 13, 7:30-8:30 p.m. (virtual & recorded)
This 1-hour webinar will be lead by Dr. Roxanne Cooper, MD, CCFP specializing in women's health, and will provide an overview of hormones and physiology of menopause.
Practice & Support:
Sunday, January 18th, 9:00-10:30 a.m. (hybrid)
You may attend this session virtually or in person at the Coastal Health NL clinic in the Viking Building, St. John's.
Tina Pomroy will guide you through a mindfulness for menopause practice and facilitate the support group.
Dr. Roxanne Cooper will be present to answer questions about the physiology of menopause.
Week 2: Mind Over Menopause

Tuesday, January 20, 7:30-8:30 p.m. (virtual & recorded)
This 1-hour webinar will be lead by Tina Pomroy, M.Ed. (Counselling Psychology) specializing in midlife women's psychological health, and will share research about psychological, emotional, and cognitive health during peri- and post-menopause.

Tina Pomroy will guide you through Yoga Nidra for menopause and facilitate the group support session.
Week 3: Menopause and Neurodiversity

Tuesday, January 27, 7:30-8:30 p.m. (virtual & recorded)
This 1-hour webinar will be lead by Dr. Fiona Trend-Cunningham, PhD and counsellor specializing in women's health and neurodiversity, and will discuss how neurodivergence is impacted by menopause.

You may attend this session virtually or in person at the Coastal Health NL clinic in the Viking Building, St. John's.
Tina Pomroy will guide you through a Progressive Muscle Relaxation & Somatic Movement practice and facilitate the group support session. Dr. Fiona Trend-Cunningham will be present to answer questions about neurodiversity and menopause.
Week 4: Beyond Biology: How Culture Shapes the Menopause Experience
Webinar:
Tuesday, February 3, 7:30-8:30 p.m. (virtual & recorded)
This 1-hour webinar will be co-lead by Tina Pomroy and Heather Alexander, certified counsellor. They will share research and knowledge about cultural and social perspectives of menopause and differences of the menopause experience among cultures. Heather will offer Indigenous knowledge and wisdom.

You may attend this session virtually or in person at the Coastal Health NL clinic in the Viking Building, St. John's.
The session will begin with a smudge, and Heather Alexander will guide you through an Indigenous exercise. Tina Pomroy will facilitate a group discussion and close the program with a sharing circle from an Indigenous lens.

$250
When you click on the registration link for Paused, you will need to create an account in Jane (a scheduling platform), and click on the Jan. 13th, 7:30pm session. This will register you for the program and guide you through the payment process.
You will receive a Welcome video from the facilitators about one week before program start.
